The hidden meaning behind that famous line, is that when someone is making just a tiny step towards building a better society, then this step is no longer considered tiny. Now this is what Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is all about.
Definition of the term
CSR is when a company promotes the human rights through different actions, in an attempt to create a brighter future.
Long story short, the ethical side of a company’s work, is what we call CSR.
Living in a world where people have been facing one difficulty after the other for the past two years, a company’s attempt to adapt a more humane side seems vital and expected. Being sensitized about the global issues, promoting the human rights and protecting the environment, is what makes you stand out from the rest of the marketplace.
Some Global Issues
- Climate Change: The temperatures are getting higher and higher causing a series of problems to the environment.
- Security and Well Being: Unfortunately, health is not taken for granted in some underdeveloped countries.
- Lack of Education: Not all children of the world have access to one of the most important human rights, called education.
Despite the fact that it is not mandatory for a company to take this action and deal with those problems in its own way, it is proven that doing so can be beneficial.
Growth of Respect: The more a company works its way through making society a better place, the more it will improve its public image. Consumers will definitely shape a perception according to the actions your company is taking and this way you will make their respect grow.
Make a Difference: Establishing yourself in your industry, means making a difference. In order to make that difference, though, it is required that you stand out. Start embracing CSR
